Product Introduction

These cables are designed and most often used for interconnecting telecommunications equipment. However, electricians have also found these cables useful in other applications, such as low-level signaling and where interconnecting control and communication equipment is required.

These cables are suitable for outdoor installation where the mechanical protection of armored cable is not required. They are particularly suitable for installation around buildings, as the PE jacket is tough, durable, and UV-resistant.

Features

Core construction: Solid annealed copper; size 24 AWG

Insulation: Double insulation consisting of an inner layer of expanded polyethylene surrounded by a solid polyethylene skin, color-coded according to telephone industry standards.

Twisted pairs: insulated conductors are twisted into pairs with different span lengths to minimize crosstalk

Core assembly: 25 pairs and less: pairs are assembled into a single group. More than 25 pairs: pairs are organized into groups, each group has a color-coded unit folder.

Core wrapping: non-hygroscopic dielectric tape applied longitudinally with an overlap

Aluminum screen: Corrugated aluminum tape, copolymer coated, 0.008" thick, applied longitudinally with an overlap. The sheath interfaces are flooded with an adhesive compound that blocks water.
