Product Introduction: Outdoor telephone cables from 11 to 101 pairs, 0.5 mm diameter copper conductor, and solid PE insulation. The pairs are twisted into units of 25 pairs, and these are then twisted together to form the core, which is protected with a moisture barrier sheath. Compliant with Royal Decree 401/2003 on ICT cables. These cables are used as outdoor distribution cables and comply with Royal Decree 401/2003 for ICT compliance. Features: Conductor: Solid annealed bare copper according to British Standard BS EN 60228. Insulation: Conductors are insulated with PE according to BS EN 50290-2-23. Pairing: Two insulated conductors are twisted together to form a pair. Lay-up: Required number of pairs are laid with water-blocking gel to form a cable core or subunit of 5 or 10 pairs. Stranding: Not required. The subunits are twisted together to form the cable core. The cable core is wrapped with polyester tape. Screen: An aluminum/polymer coated moisture barrier tape/screen is provided longitudinally. Sheath: The cable is coated with polyethylene. Applications: Aixton outdoor telephone cables are suitable for primary and secondary underground distribution networks. These cables are designed for installation in conduits in telecommunications networks. The cable is supplied with an aluminum/polymer coated tape/screen applied longitudinally over the cable core, which acts as a moisture barrier. The screen also provides protection against electrical interference.
