Category 6 (CAT6) cable provides higher performance than CAT5e and features stricter specifications for crosstalk and system noise.

To transmit according to CAT6 specifications, connectors, patch cords, patch panels, cross-connects, and cabling must comply with CAT6 standards. CAT6 components are tested individually and also tested together to determine their performance.
