Specifically, FTTH refers to the installation of Optical Network Units (ONUs) at residential or business premises, and it is the type of optical access network application closest to the user in the optical access series, excluding FTTD (Fiber To The Desktop). The key technical feature of FTTH is that it not only provides higher bandwidth but also improves network transparency in terms of data formats, speeds, wavelengths, and protocols, relaxes environmental and power supply requirements, and simplifies maintenance and installation.
