What to pay attention to when laying aerial fiber optic cables

There are many things to pay attention to when laying cables fiber opticsAnd there are many types. Aerial fiber optic cable is one of them, which is an optical cable used to hang from poles. This installation method can utilize the existing overhead power line infrastructure, saving construction costs and shortening the construction period. Aerial fiber optic cables are hung from poles and are designed to adapt to various natural environments. Let's take a look at what to consider when laying fiber optic cables.fiber optics

1. The bending radius of the optical cable should not be less than 15 times the outer diameter of the optical cable and should not be less than 20 times during the construction process.
2. The pulling force for laying the optical cable must not exceed 80% of the permissible tension of the optical cable. The maximum instantaneous pulling force must not exceed 100% of the permissible tension of the optical cable. The main pulling force must be added to the strength member of the optical cable.
3. The cable's pull end can be prefabricated or made on-site. Directly buried or underwater armored optical cable can be used as a network sleeve or pull end.
4. To prevent the optical cable from twisting and being damaged during the pulling process, a swivel piece should be added between the pulling end and the pulling cable.
5. When laying the optical cable, it should be released from the top of the cable reel and kept in a loose arc. There should be no twisting during the laying process, and it is strictly forbidden to make small loops, apply excessive tension, or use other improper techniques.
6. When using mechanical traction for laying optical cables, centralized traction, intermediate auxiliary traction, or decentralized traction should be selected according to the traction length, terrain conditions, traction tension, and other factors.
7. The tractor used for mechanical traction must meet the following requirements:
1) The traction speed adjustment range should be 0-20 m/min, and the adjustment method should be a continuous speed regulation;
2) The traction tension can be adjusted and has an automatic stop performance, that is, when the traction force exceeds the specified value, it can automatically issue an alarm and stop the traction.
8. The laying of fiber optic cables must be carefully organized and supervised by a qualified professional. Good contact points must be available during the pulling process. Untrained personnel and work without contact tools are prohibited.
9. After installing the optical cable, check that the optical fiber is in good condition. The end of the optical cable must be sealed and moisture-proof, and must not be submerged in water.
