A fiber optic patch cable (bridge) is a length of optical fiber with connectors attached to both ends to connect the fiber optic beam. A pigtail is a length of fiber with a connector permanently attached at only one end. B&D patch cables are assembled with various connector types (such as FC, SC, ST, LC, MU, MTRJ, etc.). There are three types of polished fiber ends: PC, UPC, and APC. These are manufactured to ensure high quality for mass production.
