Loose Tube Outdoor Cable: The fibers are placed in a loose tube made of high-modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filler compound. Two fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) shields are placed on either side of the tube. The cable is completed with a polyethylene (PE) jacket.
This specification covers the general requirements for center loose tube outdoor cable for overhead or underground ducts.
